I hate to say that I have rules. These are just guidelines so we can all be on the same page… no blogging pun intended!
In all seriousness though, the intent of this project is tell your story in your voice. I have very few demands but I ask that:
- You tell a story from your life. Just one. It can be something that has changed you immensely or just a fun little snippet. It’s up to you. I love when people tell stories from the past in present tense but that’s just me. You’re free to adopt any and all styles! This is your opportunity to share a little piece of you that may not have otherwise been shared in your corner of the interwebs. Whatever it may be, I want to hear it! Bloggers are encouraged to submit, but even if you don’t have a personal blog, you can tell your story!
- I ask that it be your original story or, if you’re retelling, that you both have permission and properly attribute the author.
- Again, not to limit creative freedom, but please keep this within the realm of normal, tasteful blogging. I won’t publish hardcore porn so don’t try. I also don’t like derogatory terminology, slandering other individuals, or assorted abuse. Generally speaking, if you wouldn’t put it on a blog that your mom might come across, then it’s probably not going to fly here.
If you do chose to submit and your content is run, I ask that you link back to The LifeStory Project. Copy the Badge code below onto your blog if you have one:
